okay so y’all… i just finished winning the war on cancer and i gotta say it, this book is gold. like for real, i was sitting there reading and just nodding like “yep… mhm… exactly.”
y’all already know how i feel about the medical system. i don’t trust it. too many stories, too much money floating around, and not enough care for the actual people. so when i tell you this book lined up perfectly with what i’ve been saying, i mean it. it breaks down how the system got the way it is and how certain treatments got pushed while others got buried. and the way it’s written is super clear, not all technical and boring.
what i liked most is that it doesn’t just complain about what’s wrong. it actually talks about other ways to heal, real people’s stories, and why it all makes sense when you step back and look at the bigger picture.
so yeah, if you’re already side-eyeing the system like i am, this book is basically confirmation. if you’re not there yet, it might open your eyes a little. either way, i really think it’s worth reading.
alright y’all, that’s my little book rant for today. if you wanna talk more about it or read along with me, you should come join my book club bibliophoria. we meet once a month on the first sunday and right now we’re reading the lies i tell by julie clark. it’s a totally different vibe from this one, but it’s been a fun switch up. come hang out, it’s super chill.
